Ger Vang:  I am Ger Vang from the Fact Finding Commission.  I would like to ask you, General, what is your opinion regarding  the situations in Laos and to the citizens of Laos since the LPDR government took control over Laos from 1975 until now?

General Vang Pao:  "In regard to these issues, as I've received information from the media, the internet and television throughout the world, the communist LPDR still persecutes and kills the citizen of Laos since 1975 until now.  The communists try every possible way they can to torture its people, such as using chemical poisoning consisting of yellow, red and white smoke.  Along with that the government also uses military weapons against those defenseless people who are trapped in the jungles throughout Laos.
In my opinion, I believe those people are the children of Laos.  Countries around the world exist and function because of the people representing their nation; the power lies on the citizens, not the leader.  The communist LPDR should not use military forces against the people in Laos, especially forcing them to surrender everything.  According to my knowledge, in the past twenty-seven years, accusations of human rights violations have been presented to the United Nations and democratic leaders in the world.
Therefore, I personally suggest to the LPDR government to reconsider that in the Vietnam War era they didn't win the war nor did we win the war.  World leaders agreed to end the war and resolve the conflicts by signing the agreement and allowing the citizens of Laos to rebuild Laos from the damages caused by the war, and pushed Laos to become a more productive country.
When the peace agreement was signed, the democratic nations respected the agreement, but the Communist Pathet Lao violated and didn't do as they promised to do.  Therefore the Communist arrested the Royal King and his family along with his high ranking officials in an estimation of 46,000 people and sent them to Vieng Xai, Sum Nuou province to "re-educate" them about communist rules.  It was uncovered that the communist government imprisoned, tortured, and killed all of those people.
This did not end the killing; the communist continues to target and kill the citizens of Laos who are loyal to freedom and democracy.
Because of this, I am asking the communist government to stop killing those people because no human beings in the world would want anyone to step on them and kill them.  Although, I do want to assure these people that in the free and democratic world the power lies on its citizen, not their elected leaders, but in the communist world the power lies on its forces and guns and the elected individuals, which is totally opposite to the free world.
According to my observation, we have witnessed the Soviet Union collapsed, leaving North Korea, Vietnam and Laos. How long can Communism last?  Therefore, I am requesting the communist LPDR to stop killing the people in Laos.  I am afraid that when Communism finally vanishes there will remain the scars left by the LPDR among those Laotian descendents living around the world and within Laos. I [believe] they will bring these issues to the international communities' attention leading to tremendous consequences for those of you who are leading Laos today.
As a leader who fought for the cause of freedom and believed in the free world, it is clear the problems these people face.   I do not want it to continue!  I believe the communist has gone too far, it's enough! They should stop persecuting and killing the citizens of Laos, twenty-seven years is enough.  If the communist LPDR continue their unlawful activities I do not know what will happen  but am afraid it will be too much for the government to handle.
This is my opinion regarding this matter."
