Xieng Khouang. Yang identified the Lao military units as Battalion 163, lead by Chia Fong Yang, Battalion 468, and Battalion 414. He stated their central command is located at Somthong, near the former Lima Site 20. Yang reported three other groups in that region have been under heavy attack by Lao military forces. He identified those groups as one northeast of Mouang Phone under the leadership of Blia Shoua Her, another north of Mouang Phone under the leadership of Vang Moua Lee, and another group at Pa Ta Kong under the leadership of Chong Va Her.

Yang reported that in these attacks five were killed as follows: Kou Thao, 50 years of age, female; Mai Ying Thao, 52 years of age, female; Lee Vang, 42 years of age, female; Neng Vang, 25 years of age, male; and Chee Her, 28 years of age, female.
Moua Tua Ter, also a leader in the Xaysomboune Special Zone, reported that now the raining season has come to an end, the LPDR soldiers are re-launching their campaign against the U.S. Secret veterans and their families in the jungles. He stated the two military encampments at Hoi Pa and Tham Leng Mountains are sending out troops to go after him and his people who are still trapped in the jungle. Moua reported the two military encampments fire mortars twice a day at this group, between 8:00 and 9:00 AM and between 4:00 and 5:00 Pm. Moua stated the Lao military is using 12.7mm automatic machine guns and DK-82mm mortars

He reported that at about 11:00 a.m. on October 19, 2005, the two Lao PDR military units stationed at the Tham Leng Mountain and Hoi Pa Mountain surrounded the Secret War veterans and their families at the Pa Sie area. As a young couple in their 20s, went out looking for food along the Nam Ngum River, they were ambushed by the Lao soldiers with the use of a RPG-41. Critically wounded are Xiong Pao Lor, 26 years of age, and his wife, Xao Ia Her, 22, who was severely wounded to the legs and the face. The couple have been married for nearly seven years now and have no children. They had been caring for their father, Nhia Vue Lor, who is in his 50s. The two managed to hide from LPDR soldier who were combing the area. Four days later, on Ocotber 23, 2005, Moua Toua Ter's men were able to penetrate into the area to retrieve the brutally wounded couple and bring them back to safety.
